Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is my wonderful husband's 40th birthday. As such, Anabelle and I made a wrecktastic birthday cake for him. Here are some pics of Anabelle helping me bake

4 Months Old

Our little Bella Boo turned 4 months old on October 18th. It is hard to believe that it has been that long since I had her. While I loved having a sweet little newborn, I have to admit, this stage is SO much fun. She now recognizes Don and I and is so smiley. She is also doing a hearty laugh now that just melts my heart.

A couple of weeks ago, we went for Bella's check up at her pediatrician's office. She weighed in at a little over 15 pounds and was 25 1/4 inches long. She is healthy and took this 2nd round of immunizations better than the last time. The doctor also confirmed that she is teething. We got to start "solids" so we have been feeding her rice cereal for the last couple of weeks. This weekend, I plan on introducing sweet potatoes....YUM!

I Suck

Okay, so I have really sucked at updating our blog lately. It has just been SO busy! I am about to update it now so hang tight for some new pics

Jump Jump

Don and I put together Anabelle's jumperoo last night. She isn't quite big enough for it yet, but sure does look cute sitting in it!

Anabelle's Baptism

The Yates Family traveled to Arkansas for Anabelle's Baptism last weekend. Even though we are members of Custer Road UMC here, I wanted to take her to Little Rock to be Chistened so that my family could be part of this happy occasion. Here are some pictures of the Blessed event:

3 Months Old

Yesterday, our baby girl turned 3 months old. It is very hard to believe that it has already been that long since I had her. I can definitively say that it has been the best 3 months of my life to date. At her last doctors appointment, Anabelle weighed in at 13 pounds, 14 ounces and is continuing to grow more every day.

Several big changes and milestones have been met in the last month. For starters, she got her first ear infection and first round of vaccines. Those clearly were not my favorite events of the last 4 weeks. Some of the neat things that she is now doing include tracking objects, smiling, giggling, cooing, holding her head up, reaching for objects, and turning to the sound of mom/dad's voices. She has also slept through the night one time and is now sleeping on her back in her crib (a milestone I never thought would happen). Additionally, I went back to work this week and have been so impressed with how well she has adapted to being with a nanny 3 afternoons a week and being in a daycare 2 afternoons a week. She is just a joy and we are so proud to have her as our daughter.

Daddy and Bella Boo

Bella has been spending a lot of time bonding with her daddy lately. Here are some pictures of what they have been up to:

Stuff On Anabelle's Head

I am pretty sure that when Anabelle is older she is going to hate Don and I for embarassing her in such a way. But, it was fun!

Videos

Well, I have really sucked at taking video and getting it posted. Today, I am trying to rectify this situation. So enjoy these brief videos that we have taken in the past few months.

Our Trip To Little Rock

Last week, Anabelle and I took a trip to Little Rock so she could meet her family. She had already met her grandparents since they came to Dallas when she was born. However, she had not yet met her very large extended family. I was extremely nervous to take her on the plane since nobody wants to sit next to the lady with the baby. And I was afraid that there might be a coup if she screamed the whole way there. But, to my surprise, she slept on both the flight to Little Rock and the flight home.

We had a very fun, but very busy time while there. Anabelle had lots of fun hanging out with her cousins Joe, Emily, and Madison. She also met 3 great grandmothers and a slew of Aunts and Uncles. My friend Robin took us to Firefly Pottery to make a plate with her foot and hand prints on it, which she thoroughly hated but I quite enjoyed. All and all it was a wonderful trip, but Daddy was ready to have us home.

Like Father Like Daughter

I caught this picture last night. I think that it is so funny that they are in the same pose.

Miller and Anabelle

Miller, one of Anabelle's besties came over for a play date on Sunday. Anabelle had been awake all day so she slept pretty much the entire time. Miller is my friend Robin's son and he is now 4 months old and has gotten SO big! He has such a sweet disposition and was very smiley the whole time. I can already see that he is more laid back that Miss Anabelle.

Frank's 1st Birthday Party

Today Anabelle went to her first birthday party. Her friend Frank Dixon is turning 1 on the 30th and his party was today. It was super fun and Anabelle got to meet Sophie and Zach Moroneso and play in Frank's swing. We all had a great time.

Anabelle's BIG bow

This bow was a gift and I think it is so hilarious on Anabelle. Don was taking pictures and Snowflake spontaneously decided that he needed to be in the pic too so he came and sat down next to us with a big smile on his face. It was too funny!

4 Weeks Old

I cannot believe it, but Anabelle is 4 weeks old today. She is holding her head up like a champ and sleeping really well. Last night, she slept from 10pm-3:15am and then from 3:45-7am. Here are some more pictures:

Doctor's Appointment

Anabelle went in for a check-up yesterday. I cannot believe how fast she is gowing. Here were her stats:

21 inches long (still), which puts her in the 75%
8 pounds, 5 ounces, which puts her in the 50%
Her head was 34cm, which puts her in the 25%

So, it looks like she is a little on the tall side, I am not sure where that came from. She also has a peanut head, which clearly came from me. The doctor said that all of her internal organs were developed well and was impressed with how strong she is...she is already holding her head up. We have to go to the hospital on Monday for the second part of a PKU screen and then we have to have her second Hepatitis B shot this month. Her next check-up will be at 8 weeks.

Friends

Anabelle is such a lucky girl. She has already had visits from 2 of her "besties"--Micah and Frank.

Last Friday, my friends Amy and Alyson came over and brought us lunch. Aly has a baby girl named Micah who is almost 7 months old. She is so cute, I can't wait for Anabelle to be old enough to actually play with her.

My friend Ashley came over and brought us lunch with her son Frank today. Frank will be the big 1 this month so he was playing and talking up a storm. He seemed really interested in Anabelle. I think that he will be her boyfriend one day :)
